Its the new way they did trade values in general. Whether in a Kraken Franchise or a custom Franchuse, your prospects have crazy value, but so do most players. Only like Elite of the Elite have different trade values, until your a few seasons in, then they seem to normalize.
The Variance is too wild. Extremely elite players are right or close to, but you get others that are elite players that aren't close to adequate value.
I went over a bunch of them here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1188994959 at the 53:30 mark of the video. There are some seriously weird things going on. It's pretty important to have values right for the initial season after you expand. It hampers the value of the players you have, it makes unrealistic the value of the players you can get. Moreover, I'm concerned it affected the AI's choice of players in the expansion draft.
I don't think it's right, there is some balance that needs to happen there.

I am well aware of profitability and priority when it comes to Franchise mode vs features like HUT and so on. I can't establish their priority, I can only open the discussion. I'd like to help improve the franchise product if they are willing to talk about it. That's all I can do. If I found the product completely unusable I wouldn't play it. I know there are plenty of glaring issues, some that have existed for more than just this version. I presented a post last year about a ton of feedback, I have no idea how much if it made it to the floor. I can only keep talking, and hope that things are taken into account if I wish to use the product.

The trade values are hard to read, but once you put them on the board it evens out. The whole idea was to show how valuable Franchise players are, compared to elites and to force players to work harder for trades. It feels like its broken, but its working exactly how they want.
