Franchise mode salaries changing/other issues

(I am on Xbox Series X) In Franchise Mode since the update, did anyone else notice some players cap hits are incorrect and changing? I use the Canadiens, and just to keep it simple, Anderson and Gallagher are two or the players it is happening with. Gallagher’s cap hit is gone up to $8.815M for the 23-24 season. I signed Romanov during gameplay, and his cap hit is increasing as well. It’s a very weird but that I have never seen in all of my years of playing these games.
Also, in the playoffs, the NHL has back to back playoff games in every series. If you have alternating goalies and you’re simulating, it’s using your back up for the second game.
Has anyone else encountered these problems? There are more but the salary cap one changes the game completely, and obviously has no realism.
I wish EA would hire people who are as hardcore as myself, and a lot of other people on these forums. Thanks in advance for the feedback! Stay safe.

  • As for the salary cap, if your team is above or below the cap limits, the system will automatically change the salaries of players instead of telling you that your roster is not compliant. Why this is I have absolutely no idea, however it needs to be addressed immediately

For the playoffs, EA saw that last years playoffs had 1 back to back and decided that this was the future of hockey, because if it's in the game, it's in the damn game. It needs to be fixed (or changed to what the NHL actually did with them)

Another issue with the playoffs is that they always start the day AFTER the regular season ends, which simply never happens. Reg season always ends on Sunday, playoffs stat Wednesday. Yet EA decided to sometimes have the season end on a Friday, and playoffs start Sunday, or season end Monday, playoffs on Tuesday. Really makes no sense.

All of these suggested changed will likely never be seen by anyone with any form of power at EA, because I have yet to see anything that would lead me to believe that EA has cared about their offline community in the slightest since 2013

  • I will definitely take notice of that time. But I’m not sure it’s the case because in 2023, I was over the cap floor, and it still happened. But I may start over and check that out.

I assumed that was the reason for the back to back, but that was obviously a one shot deal because of Covid. Apparently it’s not that obvious to them.
Yes! I noticed that as well. So many problems with the game that are just completely obvious, and to me, it’s just ignorance and throwing the game together year after year to charge $90 and keep fooling everyone. It’s ridiculous, but works (myself included).

I have bought every NHL game since 2005, but unless major changes are made next year, I am definitely not buying. Thanks for the feedback!
