Game modes randomly changing to 20 miniute periods

I have a Be a Pro started as well as a Be a GM.  In both modes I selected a much more senseable 5 minuite period length, howver sometimes I start a game and at some point notice (sometimes after gaining a tough lead) that the clock is actually set to 20 minuites.  At no point did I go into the settings and make this change and I have no idea why it is happining but after losing game progress over and over, the idea of starting again seems terrible and I end up quiting the game frustrated,  Is this a known issue?  Is there something else I could try ? and are there any plans to maybe patch this?
