GM Mode game generated rosters

I love love love the EA NHL franchise because of the fact that it's so true to life, from the CHL players, to the minute skating animations that make it so life-like. What I don't understand is that despite all of its realism, the NHL GM Mode keeps generating players for the various leagues with names that are extremely unlikely to exist in real life. For example: there's no person who plays in the Czech League who is named 'Rocky Fukufuji' who was born in Hungary. Yes, there is an occasional odd name (like Edwin Hedberg who is real, born in Colombia, and plays in the Swedish League) but those are extremely rare. Is there ever going to be a point where I can generate names that are a tad more realisitic given the league/region they are from? Or am I going to have to keep being OCD and making new GM modes until I get the desired result?

Are you talking about fake players as in players (younger ones) that are added the deeper you get into your GM career? All of the names generated come from a database and are totally random. I don't see what the issue is.

  • As I understand it, the issue is unrealistic names for players from certain region.

Yamamoto Van der Merwe sounds a little distant to be a professional ice hockey player from Finland, for example.

I find it funny and don't mind it, but some people want a touch of realism in the generated players aswell.
