Community ManagerThere are currently no updates on any immediate fix on this issue. Based off current testing this appears to be related to the type of display, display settings, and console settings configured.
@EA_Blueberry Why not add a brightness and HDR slider to the game settings? There is no way to change the brightness in the game and this is where the issue is, not our TV settings. NHL 22 is the only game on my Xbox Series X where there is any HDR issue.
HDR seem better with today tuning patch almost no more grey ice and color are more bright red is more red white is more white little more gamma
Idk what u did in this tuning update but it seem hdr is better keep this direction thanks you actually playing in be a pro so i hope its like that in all game modeIs this confirmed?!! Will try shortly to test.
i mentioned this previously…this randomly gets fixed later in the year after the game is released somehow.

I start the game today and got i new tuning update at main menu i downloaded it and i instantly saw gamma was brighter when need to choice jersey.. i started the game i see improvement ice was better no more grey
Montreal canadiens jersey was more red and more brighter etc idk whys but this tuning make HDR good , better than before

you can see color are more bright the red etc gamma is better so i guess the kind fix hdr in this new tuning update

I don't see any change on Xbox. The community manager just posted last week that there was no update planned for HDR.

@EA_BlueberryYou should be ashamed of yourselves! 6 months after release, the bug still exists. I bought the X-Factor edition and hardly played it because of the bug. NHL 22 was the last game from you guys. You * on the customer! Why don't you come and meet us! And realize your mistake!ANY NEWS ??????

I am happy I found this thread. I was up to buying the game today but if they still not fixed this issue after 6 months then they can keep it and I don't let rip me off.

There is no progress on this as this is due to the settings for the type of TVs being used. It is part of an auto dimming feature that will need to be configured through your TVs settings. We are not aware of any plans to address this for NHL 22. - @EA_Blueberry Lol after all thise time u keep saying its our tv the problem??? Bro all my game are fine

Even with auto dimming Off nhl 22 hdr is ugly anyways Ea is a joke now don't ask urself whys u lose so much player That’s disappointing to hear since this really isn’t an issue with our TVs. I’ve had all auto dimming turned off ever since I bought mine and no other game besides NHL 22 looks worse with HDR on. I’ve messed with every single brightness setting and nothing changes the dull HDR. I’m sure if it was our TVs that there would have been a single post over the last 6 months of someone saying that they had this issue, but fixed it using their TV settings.
Can a setting be added to the game to disable HDR in the ingame menus? There’s no reason to turn off HDR in the system settings for only one game.
At this point I guess we can only hope the HDR is better in NHL 23.
