How can I walk away from a fight?
There're always times I don't want to fight, but it seems that I can't decide if I fight most of the time. If I don't want to fight, how do I turn down a fight invitation?

I believe L1 cancels , no?
In some cases, if you hit an opposing player hard enough, a teammate will change you to a fight that you won't be able to decline. If in other instances an opponent is trying to engage you, don't press the "fight" button (Y on the 360 and whatever the PS3 equivalent is). After a 5-10 seconds, the prompt to accept the fight will disappear and you can continue playing.

Not being able to decline a fight. That shows how deep is the misunderstanding of this game by EA. There is absolutely no situation in that game where a player HAS TO fight. There always is a way to decline a fight in hockey. This is one of the most ridiculous and unrealistic aspects of any game I've ever played.
Please give this game to hockey players, not to nerds who just can't skate
