Thank you, @miiqaa @craigiecubsfan
We're alerting the team about it.
Just to double-check on the hardware side, do you have anything plugged into your PS5 other than the HDMI cable and power cable?

Nothing else plugged in the PS5. Just HDMI, Ethernet cord and power cord.

Same for me, ethernet and HDMI cable.
Seems like the jerseys are flickering on all game modes played in ”arenas” as it plays smoothly on outdoor rings. I tried again playing Threes and Ones, works just fine. But when playing offline (Play now/HUT) games in NHL/International arenas, the flickering appears again making the game play and player movement very laggy.I read some people managed to remove the flickering effect by increasing the game play speed slider.
But for example in HUT offlines matches there’s no option to change any sliders so the problem cannot be fixed in that way.
I can also share some video of the ”laggy” game play if needed.

I have this same problem as well on PS5. Hopefully you guys can find a way to fix it soon after launch.

Hi,
The easiest way to recreate is just to go into free skate on any game speed below 4 ( the effect is progressively worse the lower the speed. )
and skate left to right across the ice and then glide whereupon the jersey glitching is unmissable.
For added info this happens with:
- the vanilla disc with the PS5 disconnected from the Internet
- post latest patch whilst connected
- the PS5 running on a Sony Bravia TV at 1080p with no HDR. So, again, absolutely vanilla.
I'd rather play at game speed 2 as not everything is fixable via sliders, but in this instance, a core setting is visibly "broken" given NHL 21 doesn't do this.
Otherwise, enjoying the offline improvements made for PS5, thanks.

I read the Operation Sports review of NHL 22 and they said EA is aware of the issue and is looking into it.
"We do want to call out one issue that seems to be plaguing users on next-gen consoles (or at least the PS5 from our testing) where the frame rate does go through some dips and stuttering. This seems to only happen when you mess with the game speed, so it’s not impacting “default” settings online/offline or anything, but it’s an annoying issue all the same. EA is aware of the issue and is looking into it at this time."
One thing I disagree with there is "it's not impacting default settings", that depends on what preset you use. For me, the default game speed is 3 and it dips and stutters on that speed, as well as any speed under it. You definitely have to have the Game Speed set to 4 to not have the issue.
Hopefully EA will fix it soon, I think they will.

Absolutely, dude.
When I onboarded my settings, 3 was absolutely the chosen speed, I didn't touch the slider.
The speed is dictated to by what you pick as your main "arcade / competitive / full sim" setting on first use, so you're right, there is no "default" speed.
I have faith that this will be fixed, I feel the goalies still make some movements far too quickly with game speed at 4 even if you tone down reaction time.

What does it matter what's plugged in? I have 2 guitars for guitar hero, a Forcefeedback wheel, a VR, external hardrive and Sony Gold headphones plugged into a dreamhub high-speed mulit USB extension. Everything was working fine. And now all of a sudden my offline season and even menus are all lagging. Tried every step, but my wifi shouldn't matter when I'm playing an offline season. I went from loving this game to losing my mind because of it. So what does it matter what's plugged in?

Removing peripherals plugged into the USB ports resolves a different issue. Just to be sure, what game are you playing? Offline Seasons is also in FIFA. Regardless, I'd like you to power cycle your equipment with the following steps: unplug your modem, router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem and router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if that helps or not.
