Maximum players on same console?

Hi, I would like to organize physical tournament with a 5vs5 real person player. Is it possible to do that? Thank you!

I think the PS4 supports 4 controllers locally but multiplayer games (online) can go up to 16 controllers. Xbox supports 8 players I think?

Since you would need to enter a match via 'Play Now' I don't think it would work
