NHL 22 controls

Just started playing NHL 22 with 'NHL 94' controls on PS5

But my player just won't spin with 'L2' and I don't see any difference with/without hustle with Square

Am I missing something ?

I keep pressing L2 about 20-30 times and randomly the player responds with a single spin. And that's it, no more spins ☹️

Don't want to switch to Hybrid mode, pressing L3 for hustle is painful.

Any suggestions ? Pressing L2 is enough or does it need extra direction with L stick too ?

    @viral-mutant There is an auto hustle feature now from within the controller settings and it activates after a few strides. You would have to turn that off to use square manually for hustle.

    As for spinning with 94 controls, you have to be in motion with the puck and just give L2 a quick full press tap. If you’re not skating you won’t spin.

    Thanks @Socair for the reply.

    I am pretty sure that my player is in motion. So while pressing L2 should it be accompanied with L to remain in motion.

    Or is it like L(start skating), stop pressing L and quickly press L2 while in motion ?

    I’d have to test more, but I know it works when skating with L for sure. Should still activate while in a glide, but you will have more control over spin direction if still using the left stick. I would say you’re issue is likely the length of the L2 press. It has to be a tap essentially, but ensure you’re fully depressing the button.

    I found the auto hustle and toggled it to off.

    Now I have some control on my player.

    But can't seem to get the spin to work ☹️

    Does spin-o-rama work in 'Free skate' ?

    If I switch to `Team Practice`, I notice that there is a hint to perform spin-o-rama and if I press L2 at that point, it does perform it, but not always. Maybe once in 20 times.

    Not sure what I am doing wrong. I press the L2 fully and it's just a tap, as you said. But spin is inconsistent.

    I switch to `Free Skate` to practice, but it would never spin in that arena.

    I would assume that I can spin anytime, right, not when the other player is nearby. And at any speed, there is no min/max speed for spin
