NHL for Wii U?

I love hockey I am playing it all the time but I would play it more if EA Sports would make it for the Wii U because it is the only console that I have. the guy at the store said that there is going to be a NHL made for the Wii U but there hasn't been one yet. Should I wait till next year or just give up on my hope that there will be a NHL game for the Wii U?
