NHL94 Rewind online multiplayer unselectable

Product: NHL 21
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try and play NHL94 Rewind with friends online
What happens when the bug occurs? No option to play online appears in the menu.
What do you expect to see? A menu option to play online
Was the issue in online or offline mode? Online

NHL94 Rewind is very cool, but with social distancing rules during the pandemic I am literally prohibited from having people over to hang out on the couch.  This makes multiplayer (the main point of playing this game) impossible.

I'm sure online multiplayer must exist, there is no way you could have left out such a crucial feature, therefore I'm assuming it's a bug that prevents me from seeing the option.

    @EA_Aljo Hello, I'm sure this is a bug. Why make this game at all if there is no online multiplayer? It defeats the whole purpose of the game.

    It's a port of the original version of the game which had no multiplayer. The dev team tried to keep it as original as possible.

    @EA_Aljo I understand, I just think the community feels like this is pointless without multiplayer. you didn't release it on an anniversary or anything, you guys randomly released it. so why not add online multiplayer? seems strange to just release NHL 94 without a reason.

    I understand. I would be awesome to have multiplayer in this, but that wasn't the intent. The intent was to bring back a fan-favorite game and keep it as original as possible.

    While that's great, in a time where most of the world cant visit their friends due to lockdowns most people can't enjoy the best part of the game which is playing it with friend

    Also the only community that currently plays NHL 94 really at all does so with an emulator using online play.. that is probably the community worth going after.

    Thanks for the feedback on this. It would be great to have, but at this time there are no plans to add online multiplayer to NHL 94 Rewind.
