count me in!
I'm also dealing with this issue. I bought NHL 22 approx. 3 months ago and everything was fine. Issue started couple weeks ago, in beginning with few freezes per game, but now it's every time I receive a puck. It's sad that we have to pay for EA bugs :/
HI there, @calvinbirch
What system are you playing on and which controller are you using? Have you tried other controllers as well? If you have any more details on exactly what's happening, please let me know. Thanks!
- 3 years ago@EA_Aljo I'm playing Xbox series S, I have this controller:
Name
Xbox
System type
Xbox Wireless Controller - Robot White (2020)
Serial number
09704673325125
Yes, I have tried different controller and there wasn't this issue.
It's basically every time I receive a puck, the left thumbstick freezes. When I do something with right thumbstick, the left starts to work.
If I use 94 controls, left thumbstick works fine, I assume, that this is because in these controls, you don't need a right thumbstick.
I have tried different modes in NHL 22, and this issue is in all of them.
I would be very thankful if there would be some way to fix this issue. - EA_Aljo3 years ago

Hello, @calvinbirch
Does this also happen if you play with the controller plugged in? Have you made sure your controller has the latest firmware update?
- Blambo_svk3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@EA_Aljohow can you send a video where the match is playing because the game is buggy
- 3 years ago@EA_Aljo yes, I have tried with my controller plugged in and nothing changes, same issue.
When I try to update my controller, it's say's, that no updates needed, your controller is already up to date. - EA_Aljo3 years ago

Try deleting the personal saved data for NHL 22. Press the Guide button and then highlight the NHL 22 tile. Then, hit the Menu button. It's the small one to the right of the Guide button with 3 horizontal lines on it. Next, go to Manage game and add-ons > Saved data. Delete the file with your gamertag on it. There is the risk of losing offline saves and changes to settings you've made. Normally, those download from the cloud, but I can't guarantee this. Let me know what happens. Thanks!
- 3 years ago@EA_Aljo Nothing changes unfortunately :/

It looks like you're stickhandling a bit. Have you checked your controller for drift? When stickhandling, your player can't take any strides.

Hi again, @calvinbirch
I just wanted to follow up with you on this. Did you look into the potential drift issue I mentioned?
@EA_Aljo Nop, there shouldn't be any technical problem with controller itself. I even tested my controller in Game Controller Tester.
Follow to the link to see my test [removed]
And as I mentioned, there isn't controller issues in other gamesEdit: Removed suspicious-looking link. -CM

Your player is stickhandling without touching any buttons. Do you have another controller you can try? If your controller is wireless, try plugging it in to see if that makes any difference.
- 3 years ago@EA_Aljo I have wireless controller, plugging in doesn't make any difference. I've tried other controller and it worked fine. Couldn't there be some specific controller series and combined with some update that couse this issue?

Do you have another game you can try? This is sounding like a problem with the controller.

Not who you're replying to but, this is the only game made completely unplayable by stick drift. Players lock up because they think they're doing dekes. Put in a deadzone option and I bet you fix this issue for a majority of players.

This is a good idea. I had bad stick drift on my last controller before I finally ditched it and it was causing all kinds of grief for me in NHL.
