Offline Head to Head

I just got an Xbox One X and bought NHL 18 to play with my son. When We start a new offline head to head game, on one team I can control the players, but the other team you are stuck being goalie. How can I set it so we both play against each other as players?

    Check to see if position lock is activated on the other team. I forget what the control command is to activate position lock, but it says somewhere on the screen. I think it’s R3 or X.

    As mentioned by @Socair you probably just need top hit the trick down to switch that too all players and not a portion lock.
