I have the same problem.
Last month, I solved the problem by performing several things like changing DNS, unplug modem, router ect. The game run fine for about a month, but Saturday it all started to happen again, and I have tried to do all the same steps I did 4 weeks ago ( Source:https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/NHL-21-Input-lag-in-HUT/m-p/9832558#M1518 ) but this time the delay/lag is still there no matter what.

In game, you're connecting to a server closer than the one you're testing. That's why you see the lower ping. You're also only sending 7 packets. You need to send 100 to get more accurate results.

We don't give out the server locations. As far as your test goes, again, I'm not seeing any issues with it. Since you're also not showing any lag in your videos and we've done all troubleshooting, I can't think of anything else to suggest.
You have packet loss on your isp servers that is probably why your having issues .. the first 4-5 hops are usually your isp , do a trace on google.com see if you still get packet loss on your first 4 hops
You tell me that my network connection is fine but the game lags as hell. So the logic conclusion is the problem is on Ea/Server side. Thats what you telle me.
But no fix or help is coming like ever from EA.
You act like a polican, talk a lot of empty words. the only question you answerd is that you can't tell me the server locations. The conclusion to this is I think cause there is no
server near the middle of germany. Thats why we here have everytime disadvantage against Czechs, Slovaks, Swedes, Fins and Greatbraitans. I had not a good connect since over omne week.
When the game came out in September some games were bad, some were good. After Christmas like every year it's online unplayable. Many players got the game at christmas so is there to much traffic? Share the NHL game the servers with the FIFA game? This is no acceptable coustomer support and no even playing field. When I play online I want to have the same chances as every other player but thats not like it is.
All my other games work online fine, only NHL will lag like hell. ANSERWS not empty words please. THIS NEED A SOLUTION CAUSE THE PROBLEM IS ON YOUR END!
Where are you from ? I’m almost getting the same results as you on your traceroute test I’m from Toronto .. when I showed my isp provider this they said it’s not a really good accurate test .. something like PingPlotter is more accurate and reliable then the one ea makes us test on

Thanks for the tip, but I have done that already. I already did open ports on my router.
Last Saturday, Sunday and Monday was terrible (9 January - 11 January), I had lag/delay, and the game was unplayable. (Only in Rivals and HUT Champs that is).
I did not play any games on Tuesday (12 January)
I started playing some rival games on Wednesday and the game was back to normal, lag/delay was gone. Thursday, Friday and Saturday was all fine.
But unfortunately, it all started again this Sunday evening. It's so frustrating. It is nearly invisible, and almost impossible to notice this on any recorded gameplay, you actually have to play the game yourself to notice it. It's like playing with a handicap, players don’t chase the puck, D- men don’t take out or mark their guy, It's impossible to bodycheck your opponent, it's like the opponent have some kind of “invisible shield” or something like that, your player just won’t tackle, it’s like the opposite of a magnet so to speak. Onetime cross crease shots don’t connect anymore. It feels like the actual gameplay is not in sync.
In other words, I have the same problem as the user that started this topic, only difference is that my ping is average 20-25 every game, you should play the game without any problems with a ping like that, but NO, the lag/delay is still there.
