My comment was more about how we need to troubleshoot connection issues when there are no currently known issues with our servers. We've gone through all the troubleshooting we can in your case. You'll need to contact an advisor to continue working on this.

here is the test..
- MaraSGc5 years agoSeasoned Adventurer@EA_Aljo And one more thing surprised me today, and that was that the match I played here had a delayed reaction of the players and we still won the match, but the important thing is that the player stopped playing against the player, and at that moment the game was no longer delayed started playing, so again a terrible delay !!!
- Codo375 years agoRising Adventurer@EA_Aljo I contacted the advisors per phone and they don’t konw what they are doing … they have absolut no plan what the problem is, the only thing they do is go through a troubleshooting script … unplug your router/modem, open ports, wired/wireless … this has nothing to do with a technical support crew. They are noobs with no plan of what they are talking about, they don't understand most of the problems and had no knowledge of networks or what happens behind the game. UNLESS AGAIN!

@EA_Aljo Sorry no, I can't send you a video. I don't play eashl club games anymore, not since the rest of my team quit because of the lag and your lack of effort trying to solve it.
The occasional games I play now are in eashl drop-in mode and in this mode:
* Many searches for a game timeout.
* I play with/against the same players in consecutive games.
* Ping is over 100ms.
This tells me there are no hundreds of thousends, nor millions, of players in this game mode. At least, not in northern Europe.
However, even in these games where the overall lag is noticeable, because of a far away server, I still notice some of the same inconsistencies in the game:
* ONE team is fast.
* ONE team is good at intercepting pucks.
* ONE team has good AI players.
* ...etc.
Just a final thought; how about listening to the people who actually take the time to tell you when something is not working as intended(?).
I get that you sometimes need to tell the not-so-technical-people to restart this or that. But, when that doesn't work? When something is actually wrong??
Oh, another final final-thought; please explain to me, an adult who spent a considerable amount of years in software development, what the difference between me "feeling a lag" and a real lag is. Maybe I can use it towards my paying customers instead of finding the root cause... sounds a lot cheaper.

Have you guys noticed it’s the same thing every year ? This game blows nothing but player delay servers suck it can’t handle all these players on now that lg has started it got worse.. ea won’t admit it .. when was the last time nhl ea servers had a maintenance?
- MaraSGc5 years agoSeasoned Adventurer@Toronto77777 Yes, I agree with you, since September I have a third internet provider, all tests good, ping around 20ms, but I am still late in a lot of matches ..

The servers are regularly maintained. There are many variables that provide your connection besides our servers. They are certainly capable of handling the traffic we get from the new LG seasons starting. I had no issues in my games and nobody complained about lag. We also aren't aware of any issues currently so we'll need to troubleshoot everyone individually.

I don't see how there's been a lack of effort. I'm here almost every day trying to assist with this. There's a lot out of our control as our servers are just one part of the connection. I am listening to people saying the game isn't working as intended. I'm also here to try to help get that resolved. We aren't aware of any issues currently as the vast majority of people are playing without connection problems. Unfortunately, without video of the issues you're facing, there isn't much that can be done. We can go through connection troubleshooting if you like, but since we can't see the problems you're experiencing, it can't be reported to the dev team. There is no evidence so far showing there's a bias towards one team over the other and this is absolutely not built into the game.

@EA_AljoI played this game for many years. The complaints are the same every year. Not only for hockey, for all your sport games. Nothing happens, it's not getting better. Maybe it's lack of resources or effort or something else. I really don't care. What I do care about is getting what I payed for. This game is nearly unplayable. It's not fun. It could be fun. With an level playing field it would be. But, for now, it's not.

The big question is: How do I connect to a server? When I use the max ping feature at <20 ms i get only games 90% against slovaks and czech players. Ping showes every time between 6 and 10 ms but it's in most games total delayed. When I use the setting <30 ms I get lots of games aginst fins and swedes with a shown ping from 27-30 ms and it's total unplayabele. So when I get 27-30 ms i must connect to a diffrent server than when I hat the 6-10 ms. The next quistion is: what way does the singnal go after I connect to the server? You say the connect will be affected by many thins such as routing, the ISP and more but this should be shown in the ping that displayed in the game. So the real problem must be what happend after the connect to the server on the way to the other player. All other problems should be displayer on the ping screen in the game but my line is totaly flat. I think its clearly a location problem. When I play games aginst player in the north of germany near Hambur I have the problems, when I play games againstt players in the south of germany south of Munich I have problems. I live in the middle near Frankfort and when I play games aginst players in the middle of my country it works fine, so it cant be my problem. I think I live in a grey area where I'm to far fom any server … thats the real problem.

Win or lose, HUT Champions had pretty terrible connection quality (Germany, Central Europe, X1) this weekend for me, it got so bad that I had to restart all my networking gear (something I only do with NHL). As I mentioned in this thread before, every game played differently, the three games I lost my opponent had a clearly better connect, some games I only won because of luck. Furthermore, it showed to me again that the game rewards "bad" gameplay when the connection is laggy, the one player I lost to was just circling in the corner all game long, my players had the typical "fat-man lag" agility and accleration (I have Spark activated btw) where they are unable to attack the puck carrier. The game becomes all about luck then or not making the one defensive mistake, I still think the guys on the Northern Server have a advantage over the ones on the Central Server. What is interesting is that I played against another German player today and lost, we've been playing pretty much against each other in HUT Champions every week and it always comes down to who has the better connect. Today, I surffered from the usual circumstances of bad connects, all my lines were exhausted and yellow with 5 minutes left in the period, he scored on his first D to D One-Timer, I miss wide-open nets, the typical slow poke check where you barely touch the skate and the opponent flops like he was hit hard etc. And this guy lives about 350 km or 217 miles from me (I live in the North-East, he lives more in the West). I know that there is a advantage with P2P when you are hosting (or not hosting, I can't remember) the game, I always thought that this wouldn't matter when it comes playing via a server but I am not so sure anymore. If I had more time I'd run Wireshark and analyze the traffic as some guys did with Fifa but I make the Top 100 anyway each week and I don't think EA would do anything with the results even though they should because I still assume that they are losing a lot of customers in HUT or EASHL.
- Codo375 years agoRising Adventurer@prospero99c I was 13-4 in HUT Champions and the last three games in the evening was terrible, first against a Swede, I had noc chance, lost 9-3, he was quicker and I had the fat man lag again. The I played some guy from Poland twice, firts game I quit after down 5-1 in the first, comletely unplayable. Pin was 27 ms. Second game I lost 8-7 and was better than first but far away from good. Every Crosscrease pass goes through my defenders and 1 min before the end I got that thypical bed connect onetimer goal from faceoff that is undefendebal when you have the bed connect. The ping shown in this game was 8 ms. How can it be thet we are connect to diffrent servers when we are the same players? Explain! I had not one good game but managed 13 wins … some lucky but it has nothing to do with equal fair gameplay

Started playing HUT Champions on Thursday and had to endure three excruciating losses, games which were absolutely unplayable and downright unfair. So I was fed up and started to record the network traffic to get more information.
It's pretty well known that the EA Titles use GVSP (UDP) as the protocol for the Online Gameplay, Fifa uses it as well, they have more servers though. In NHL, I was only able to connect to servers in Stockholm (about 1080km away from my home) and Frankfurt (about 545km). The servers in Stockholm seem to have a range of IP addresses, the server in Frankfurt only has one apparently (is that supposed to be, no load balancing?).
So I started testing searching for games with "Max Avg Ping" 40ms on Friday and Saturday. Was connected to the Stockholm Server, barely won my games, played against a Swede and a Finnish player, connection was not good, but not terrible. Changed "Search Max Avg Ping" to 30ms. Played against a guy and lost even tough I outplayed him, he scored 6 goals in the third period, every shot was a goal. I was surprised that the server had changed to Frankfurt. Changed "Search Max Avg Ping" to 50ms to further test the connection on Saturday 8:30pm. Played against a guy I always lost in the past due to the connection, he usually finished Top 10. This time I won 3:2 (22ms) and got an angry message that EA helped me win the game. Two weeks ago I quit a game against him after getting outscored 2:8 after two periods, it was unplayable.
Afterwards I played against a guy from Germany (27ms) and won 10:7. It was ridiculous, there was no defense possible on both sides. Then, I had a game against a guy from Sweden with 32ms and I knew after two minutes that I would win this game which I did, played smooth and perfect. Was surprised that the server had changed to Stockholm. Today I had another Rivals game which played perfect against a guy from Russia, 30ms on the Swedish server.
For the remaining games I changed the "Search Max Avg Ping" setting to 20ms and I played all my games on the Frankfurt server. None of them had a Average Ping of 20ms, they all had 21,22, highest ping went up to 38ms at times during gameplay. They all played different, in one game I was down 4:1 with 5 minutes to go and won 4:5, some games were extremly slow and I played the German guy again, instead of winning 10:7 I won 4:1, completely different game, way more tight. An opponent send me a message that his players don't turn the way he wants to, he told me was from the UK when I asked him so he probably had a bad connect. The last couple of games had tons of "Packet-Resends", "Range-Errors" and "Block-Dropped" messages in Wireshark for the GVSP traffic as well. But it's all very weird and incoherent, it's very rare that games play perfectly smooth but I can't find a pattern.
