for world of Chel I want to use my real last name but I can't because it is considered to have profanity in it

Hi @Tman3311,

It can happen for some names depending on the combination of letters for example. There have been others where the filter was overzealous in ensuring the profane does not make it into the games or exposed to the community.

If you can share more specifics, we'll note the feedback for the profanity filter.

    I faced the same issue when trying to create an EASHL club. The name of our club has been for the last two versions of the game "Isukin Opetuslapset". This time we are currently unable to have it as the system tells us "text contains profanity" For my knowledge there is no profanity in that name.

      It's possible "suk" is what is causing the profanity notification.

        Why not try and fix the problem (or provide updates that EA is working towards it) rather than explain that "suk" is, for whatever reason, "profane". I can only imagine this impacts non-primarily speaking English people more.

        This comment is supposed to be in response to the EA manager if it doesn't get posted properly as this is my first time. I'm also having problems because apparently my last name is profane?

    the name I want to use is Opila which is my last name but I still don't see what may be wrong with it?

    I have tried to put my name Rob Gibson in to world of Chel and am getting my name contains profanity. In all the years i have play the NHL franchise this has never happened. Please advise

    Opened up World of CHEL. Created my character. It started with the name "JOE NHL." Wouldn't let me change my name to any word. Hello = Profane. Yes = Profane. Hi = Profane. Sleepy = Profane. Joey = Profane. So I just leave it at Joe and hit enter = Profane. Then I switch to last names. Leave it at NHL = Profane. Seriously why even bother making this game if you can't even get the simplest things right? How hard is it to allow gamers to choose their own name?

      It's a lot more difficult than you'd think. People get very creative with ways they circumvent the profanity filter. It might be a bit heavy-handed currently, but this is also necessary to try to stop the very highly offensive names many people insist on creating. However, hopefully, we'll see the profanity filter being more finely tuned in the future.

    @EA_Lanna I can't even use an initial because it's deemed profanity. I want to use the first initial of my last name, "D". Somehow, a letter in the alphabet is profane. This is out of control.

    Instead of controlling people, EA should make sure actual profane words are dealt with instead of forcing woke agendas on the entire player community. Last time I checked, the letter D was not racist or profane.

    My last name is Holland and is blocked by the profanity filter. Is this a bug? Not sure what’s profane about a surname/name of a country.

      Thanks for reporting this. I don't know why Holland would be profane. I'll pass this on, but I don't know if/when updates to the profanity filter will be made.

        @EA_Aljo Awesome. Thank-you. Turns out it wasn’t the surname that was the problem. It was my first name, Chris. Which I’m guessing is filtered out for being close to ‘Christ’. Either way, my surname is working now.
