To summarize and confirm the information that is going on within this thread (This is specifically for the Dressing Room Error that appears right before the game starts)
- Is everyone who is experiencing this issue on PS4?
- Does the following method work work as a workaround for everyone? - your game has ended, hit the PS button > Settings > Network > Test Connection. Once the test runs you can pop back in your NHL app and you will reconnect and be at the HUB. (If you haven't tried, please do so and report back here)
- Does closing the NHL 19 app and opening it back up again allow every affected user here to play at least 1 match but experiencing the dressing room error?
- Does switching to Mobile data resolve the issue for everyone?
- Does opening up the ports work as a solution?
Thank you for your responses
My friend has this issue when using his home network. However, there is no problem when he uses another internet connection with same PS4. The problem seems to have something to do with the connection. I wonder if the problem are idle TCP connections that are dropped by internet provider by a timeout. This could explain why the first EASHL match seem to work more often that the next ones.
@EA_RogerIs there any possibility that you could try to confirm this?

@iqqmuT What other internet connection is he using? Another person's internet, hotspot.... and if he is using someone else's internet, are there more devices than just his PlayStation that are connected at the same time? All of my friends who live locally have the issue so I cant really test this out. I'm wondering if the internet connectivity is at least part of the problem, why haven't we had this issue in games past? The only error i ever got with 18 on EASHL was when we couldn't find a lobby because nobody was in drop-in. Only thing i can think of is possibly the lobby making itself- they made a lot of changes to the entire CHEL mode, but I've noticed there are several more steps in making/ finding a lobby. Wonder if, as a test, EA switched the lobby matchmaking back to the way it was last year just to see if that changes anything with the error codes.. Not sure if it is relevant or not. I switched over to mobile hotspot a few days ago and it seemed to work better for me. Maybe requiring more internet "power" to get through to the start of the match? I'm not tech savy so opening ports and all that is no answer for me.

@camo_chris87My friend has tried several scenarios with his PS4:
Dressing Room error problem:
- cable, home internet connection
Everything works ok:
- mobile hotspot
- 4G mobile connection
- another friend's home, fiber connection
So definitely the issue has something to do with the internet connection in my friend's case.
About what has changed, maybe EA has coded dressing room implementation in a different way, depending on some TCP connections that now are dropped unwantedly when they have idled enough. Just a theory. 🙂 But this could be tested if there is a way to enable/disable dropping idle TCP connections (unfortunately this feature depends usually on internet provider).

I noticed that at least for me this seems to be related to some 5 minutes timeout.
I was able to start multiple CHEL Ones games by starting the first game, then quitting the game immediately and then starting the next one. After starting the 3rd game I played that for a while until 5 minutes had been passed from starting the NHL or testing the network (connection PS Menu) and it didn't work after that.
Also if I stay in the Ones menu after quickly quitting the first game, the second game won't start if it's been more than 5 minutes.
So it really seems some of the TCP/UDP connections are cut off after 5min (300sec) and NHL19 cannot cope with that (open new connection as needed).
I cannot yet cannot prove if it's my modem, my cable operator or something related to EA's end.
I'm using CISCO 3828 cable modem and there's nothing to configure in its admin menus related to such timeout.
Maybe EA's people could try to help diagnosting this? Can you tell which connections are used specifically in these EASHL and Ones online game modes when looking for an opponent/starting game? To help finding the issue, I remind you that I have the same kind of behaviour in NHL18 HUT. In NHL18 the EASHL worked, so it's kind of an old issue that has just moved from NHL18 HUT to NHL19 CHEL...
I suggest all other players check if you have the same kind of exact time out issue and it cuts off after certain amount of time has passed since starting the game and opening EASHL/Ones.
Maybe even post which network devices are you using and check your device configurations if there's some time limit you can configure. Unfortunately I didn't find such on mine....

I just got on and there was an update.... I was able to get into 2 consecutive drop in games. I noticed the customizable tops were takin away so that might have been at least part of the problem

There was an update for the app? Let me know how it goes! more than a few games in a row with no special workarounds would be dope haha
- Anonymous7 years agoWas only able to play the second one- loaded into the first game but before the puck drop the other team quit
