Quick Exit after Squad Battles win, instead gives 3-0 loss.

Product: NHL 22
Platform:Xbox Series X
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not really sure, I beat a team in Squad Battles 37-1 and quickly scrolled through to exit the game. When I returned to the opponents screen it showed me with a 3-0 loss.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game gave me a loss of 3-0 which is what you see if you quit a game before the end.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see my win of 37-1 there and have those goals, shots, etc. all count towards the milestones and the HUT Roots objectives.
Was the issue in online or offline mode? Offline

I have attached a screenshot.  This is what I get after experiencing a Rivals sync issue where we watched faceoff rubber banding.

When you win a game by this much it takes a lot longer to get through the whole game. It's an exceptional waste of time and not only that if I want to face the team again I need to spend 500 coins.

It would be nice to get credit for the stats but I am sure those are long gone since the game considers that I quit before the game ended.  Not sure how that happens since i was at the end game screen watching the points and coins add up.

Now I'm not sure I want to play Squad Battles. I'm already not going to play Rivals since you can't be certain WHEN the sync reset issue will occur.

It's getting rough... hope you get it right soon.

  • I switched Internet connection and moved behind a Meraki MX64 router. So far all Rivals games have played perfectly.

    I have only played 1 squad battles game due to time constraints. I did not have an issue.  I did have my first HUT Rush game complete with a 5-3 win but provide 0 points and 0 progress towards the objectives.  The second game worked.  I experienced the HUT Rush issue last year in NHL21 on PS5.

    I will continue to monitor this for some time and see if any additional issues arise.  If it turns out to be an issue with a router it would be good to know more about what issue it might be as some simple preventative maintenance could save a lot of time and hassle.

    The two SB losses equate to a significant loss of investment in time and achieving milestones and as you know, with so many great gaming options on the market, if a game doesn't make the time spent rewarding, it's time to move on.

  • And it happened again... so awesome.  This time I did not quickly exit the Squad Battles game.  THis was a Superstar game I won 10-0.

    Not even worth a report again... but there goes another 10 goals, 29 shots, 17 hits, SB points, and time out of my day.

    Can't play Rivals, can't play Squad Battles.. guess HUT it useless.

    Hello, @InstantSpuds 

    I'd like you to power cycle your equipment with the following steps: unplug your modem, router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem and router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if that helps or not. Thanks!

    I'll give this a shot, but as a person with over 25 years of network experience I'm curious what would lead you to this diagnostic step.  It sounds mysteriously like a typical blanket, restart and see what happens.

    Is EA aware of something within routing tables, ARP tables, etc. that might lead to this type of behavior within the game?

    For what it's worth, I do not run my network behind a low-grade consumer router. It's currently running behind a VMware SD-WAN device. I have significant insight into my underlying network connection and I know that it's not experiencing issues with packet loss, etc.  (for once).

    These issues only started occurring after the last game update. I have zero issues in other games I play and with all other network connections.

    As I said, I will give this a shot.  I can also move route to my backup network connection which goes through an entirely different router and modem combination if you have some specific aspect of network routing/connectivity you are researching.  I am happy to help resolve in any way possible.

    But, please do not let this be the equivalent of the "reboot it" troubleshooting step.

    I'm glad to hear changing your connection and using a different router has helped. Let me know how it goes.

    Regarding the HUT Rush issue, please reach out again if that continues. Hopefully, it was just a one time occurrence.
