Game wont start after the update. Stuck here and nothing in ports.
This is only a bandaid… I can’t be expected to unplug my peripherals to play each time.

What does that message say?
I’m having the same problem. NHL 22 is stuck on the title screen with Matthews and the prompt to “press X”, but nothing happens when I press X. I verified that the controller is working fine on another game and I’ve also unplugged everything from the USB ports on the PS4 but I’m still having the same problem. Any other suggestions? Thanks
Edit: I’ve also tried turning the controller off and on, and deleting and re-installing NHL 22…still no luck solving the problem.

I'd like you to power cycle your equipment with the following steps: unplug your modem, router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem and router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if that helps or not. Thanks!
I’m experiencing this issue now. Is there anything else I can do. I have tried opening with nothing in the USB ports. I have hard cycled the equipment and I have reinstalled the game. Not able to get past the press x screen. I was able to play for a bit while it was downloading the first time

No I have removed all usb cords and still no luck

Are you sure you're changing the password for the right account? You're posting from 2 different accounts so it might be good to change the password for both if you're unsure.
Yeah the jdove777 is linked to the PSN and I changed that password.

Thanks for getting back to me. Try restoring your licenses with the steps here. Also, alternate DNS settings may help. Those instructions are here. If you don't see a difference, try the Google DNS servers. Those are: Primary alt number 8.8.8.8 - Secondary alt number 8.8.4.4.
Tried all these suggestions and still stuck on the press x screen
I even attempted a wired connection in case the Wi-Fi was the issue

Have you played any other NHL games on that PSN ID?
I have. What I got to work was resetting the controller with the reset behind L2. Thank you for your assistance!

Are you playing NHL 22? Just wanted to make sure which game you're playing since NHL 22 is a couple years old now.
