I don't think a reset of the Xbox is necessary for this one - if you go into screen settings from the main menu you should actually be able to change the entire aspect ratio (keep in mind this will affect other games too).

It could work perfectly, it could look disgusting, but I'm sure there will be an option that keeps everything on screen.

Sometimes this problem can occur if you have an 4k TV and have HDR enabled ingame but your system can't actually output HDR (ie it's an older model)- turn this off if that's the case
