Re: game sliders

The hard part is that if you adjust the AI slider it will make all players smarter and that includes the other team. Is it the AI that is bugging you? Sounds like its the AI of the players. Well, that is how they are programmed and they are not going to play like a human. Humans program them and in turn your AI players, especially the Defense are going to be dumb. If you make them smarter by adjusting then User strategy adjustment slider, it makes the other team better as well. So that is out.

You might have to resign the fact that the player AI is not going to be how you like it. But as far as the flow of the game, you can adjust how aggressive the teams are tho.

The CPU strategy slider is like an aggression slider. At 0 it just plays offense and defense with no changes. At 6 it will be very aggressive. So if you like to play like that, move your BAP strategy slider to 6 and the other team to 1.

The User strategy adjustment is the quality of those changes. As mentioned before if you bump up that slider it makes everyone smarter. So you can play with that. If you play with that slider at 6 then the AI will use its maximum programming and you might have fun playing it.. try it out.

One more thing is the AI learning. NO ONE has specifically said is this is a good or bad thing. Try bumping it up to 6 and see if your team AI adjusts to your playing style.

This game is about finding that balance. The AI sucks, so you have to find that balance where its still effective, but doesn’t hurt you. If they still score too much, there are things you can do.

Fatigue to 98-100, recovery down to 8.. that way the superstars are not on the ice all the time scorning against you.

You can reduce their goalie reflexes down to 10.. You will score more..

That’s about all I can suggest. My sliders have a different play, but I only play Goalie.. so I can’t tell you about passing and puck control. I have most of my puck control for the CPU at 57…

Remember… change the strategy sliders first… don’t change any of the game play sliders like puck control and passing. Find the balance first then adjust the rest.. see how that works

I just get frustrated when I play 5 games and nearly the only time the opponent AI scores is when I'm on the ice. they hardly score when I simulate to my next shift. I don't care about maybe 1 to 2 goals against me but freaking 5 or more, but that is on all star or superstar. on pro, they may score 1 to 4 goals but out of those 5 games they score most or all when I'm on the ice. that's what irritates me. I did take your suggestion about the fatigue sliders and that seems to work good but like I said, I get scored on the most when I'm on the ice. I have played 10 games so far (including preseason) and they have scored 17 goals total. out of those 17, they scored 10-13 goals while I was on the ice and that's being generous and that's on pro difficulty. if I put it on all star or superstar I'd lose every game and probably get scored on more than that. I just want them to score more when I simulate. on one of my saved games, I was like -7 in the +/- stat and was only 2 games in, but that was on superstar. heck my team scores more than the AI opponent when I simulate lol. I don't want to score 100 goals in my rookie season but I also don't want to lose nearly every game and be -100 on +/- either lol.

Then lower to Pro, (that’s where you always win right) then in the slider area under AI increase the CPU difficulty adjustment slider to 6, then see how they play, if you are scoring too much where its just a joke, then use the AI learning slider to 6 and the User strategy to 6, then adjust as needed.. There has to be a balance in there somewhere..
