You'll have slightly better luck when you hold L2/LT since your player will be facing the puck/shooter.

If you are the only human forward on your team and decide to rely on tip goals I actually recommend you use the Behind the Net strategy to keep your computer players out of the shooting lane. I've had far better luck netting goals with Power Forwards and Grinders than I have with Snipers, surprisingly.

    Thanks for the added tips! Pun intended 🙂 If you work the puck around a bit it'll give them time to get to the slot. When you have forwards in front of the net, start taking shots with your defenders. Even a quick wrister will work.
