Re: Juniors and AHL

@heavydutyrammer Just bumping this… we’ve seen lots of feedback in other threads for this.. but so many players have left the forums because we’ve been ignored anyways… not a single reply from EA about the removal of the juniors… and it’s been 7-8 months…

Just saw more people on Reddit and Facebook complaining about it so made me want to bump this… very sad and pathetic that it was removed…

I believe they said the idea was to streamline the whole process since gameplay is pretty much the same no matter what league/level you're playing at. It'd be great if you could convince a few of those people in other communities to post so the team can get a better idea of popularity numbers.

As analytics current stand, offline is quite a small portion of the community (I completely understand how it feels as someone who stays away from HUT). I'm hoping they can find a way to start meshing HUT + EASHL together and get BaP and Franchise, possibly GM Connected, to become interchangable for a better experience

  • @TTZ_Dipsy With offline game modes.. gameplay is only part of it… Be a Pro, gameplay is important obviously.. but so is the entire concept of “becoming a pro NHL player”
You don’t just turn 18 and are suddenly a superstar…
You play hockey growing up.. you practice and work on it… you make it to the juniors and have to prove that you can become an NHL player.. by playing in a season, or two or three, and THEN getting drafted…

Sure gameplay is the same… but a 70ovr skater shouldn’t be on the top 2 lines with 87+ovr players… doesn’t make sense… not realistic or immersive…

It’s just completely dumb that they removed the juniors… there’s no sense of accomplishment for actually working to be the top pick… or even get picked in the first round… now you can go AFK and get drafted 1st overall.. by the same team every time

For Be a pro it should be more about the road to be a superstar, create the pathway, create a legend.

Be able to play one or more season in Europe league for example (not just a few CHL games) and be selected for World Juniors. (or Junior leagues in North America)

Play World Juniors one or two years, depending how your pro develope.

Maybe even if you are doing great in the league also at the end of season be selected for the World Championships and play that before you choose to go to North America.

Then play 1-2 seasons in AHL before you are ready for NHL, work yourself up the lines until you are the first line player everyone was expecting in the draft.

But not all players wants to build up into that, some just want to hit NHL and play the games there, so my solution is that when you start Be A Pro you can choose from this:

Full mode - Slow development, includes all the competitions in multiple seasons leading up to NHL

Normal mode - Normal development, includes all the competitions in fewer seasons leading up to NHL

Fast mode - Faster development, shorter junior season leading up to the draft and then play in the NHL (little bit like it is in NHL 22).

  • @MV75 This would be ideal… The full mode is exactly what I’d want.. just have it be realistic… the development and working to get to the big league, is literally the defining aspect of the game mode… at least it should be but EA removed it…

The analytics are become smaller daily due to loss of interest. I had over 30 friends I would play outdoor or indoor ice/floor hockey, along minor hockey with who quit playing after NHL 18. Some decided to stay on NHL 14 or Legacy edition. Removal of content is killing the population unfortunately. I know this for a fact as in NHL 21 majority of the streamers who used EA NHL content as their main for streams have discontinued and moved on to other games. NHL 20 the viewership was higher! NHL 22 just killed the EA NHL Twitch community. What fun is it when the content is very bland? Many of these streamers I have known played BAP for the grind of starting as rookie in junior and developing into an NHL player. If they played horribly the AHL was an option. The offline community used to be very common.

In online OTP/Indoor drop-in's were very popular. I remember NHL 14 up until NHL 18 we had hundreds playing. Wait times were never longer than 5 minutes tops. Now the wait times for from 10 to 20 minutes or longer. This was a problem in 21 too before the console split.

We need content! NHL 22 needs a patch or NHL 23 sales are going to plummet! I might not even bother with 23 after being disappointed for 2 years of removed content...

Any chance this mode will be addressed for NHL 23? A patch to even put the Juniors/CHL full seasons and AHL would be wonderful. Roster Sharing and other game modes were added in tournament so why can't this be a thing? I know it's almost July! Although the games unplayable and boring! People paid money for this! Give us content worth our money! HUT isn't the only mode out there!

Honestly I doubt it…‘I’ve been specifically asking @EA_Blueberry for what… over half a year now? And still…. Have not gotten a single answer… at this point I really don’t see the AHL/Juniors coming back…  especially given how ignored all the offline game modes were this year… they are STILL broken…
