The general rule is that the odds are lower the higher the player card is rated.
I've rolled 6 X-factor Choice packs through the different sets and never had McDavid pop-up.
Same with Icons, no Great, Super or Howe so I bought my guys in the house.

I'm sure someone on the team has a list of specific odds but I sort of doubt any of them will publicly release the numbers. That said, I can guarantee the chances of you getting McDavid specifically are low
Listening to Ep 31 of Coffee & Chel and they discuss X-factors early on.
I like the idea of introducing new X-factors during the season but don't think there should be fewer of them at the drop. There should actually be more at the drop and incentivise making a proper prediction on a player to start the season. It shouldn't be either Pettersson or Kreider at the drop but both and let one fizzle out and the other blow up.
I expected a lot out of the Island this season and bet on Barzal with his Seattle ties to have a big season. I bet wrong but that doesn't mean Matty & Elias shouldn't be repping their clubs as X-factors or those clubs are not deserving of any.
Every club should have at least one X-factor to start and let the season play out and if it goes well they'll upgrade and if not then they won't.
