Refs blows puck dead too much

I'm trying to play the be a pro mode in nhl21 as a goalie but it's almost unplayable as the refs keep stopping play for no reason. The commentators will say they lost sight of the puck even if they are looking right at it. This never happened when I played as a skater. Is this a glitch that never got fixed? Is there a way I can fix it through the options or something? Or do I just say screw it and not play as a goalie? The only real reason I don't play as a goalie in these games is I don't have total control of the goalie. The AI decides stick side or glove side and I basically just move side to side.
