Roster sharing

It was really nice that it was added when it was, but for whose of us who like to edit players and keep things real, it feels very underwhelming on the whole, unless I've missed something.

Things I wish was possible when sharing and merging rosters:

  • Choose what you want to merge from one roster file to another - That you can check boxes for what you want to be overwritten, added and so on. Let's say someone has taken their time to edit all the players skating style. It would be great to be able to add those changes to the players, without losing whatever edits you have made to the players skill or information. That could also include many other things.

Things that continue to be a big problem:

  1. Not being able to edit players fully (size is the main problem for me)
  2. Retaining salary
  3. Moving draft picks

Comment: The first one is obvious, and while it isn't a huuuge problem, it is a problem. Trades that happen during the season which include draft picks and retained salary (like today when Ethan Bear was traded to Vancouver). My current roster can essentially be scrapped, because I need to wait for the next official EA roster update to get the salary retained and draft pick moved. And that official roster won't have my edits. This is where the options for merging rosters would come in handy also, because if it was possible to chose to only merge specific things. But then again, that wouldn't be necessary at all if we could make those changes ourselves.

I'm aware that these things have been brought up before (by me also), but I just want the game to work better and be more enjoyable. Still wish there could be some "official" answer to these (and others) contructive ideas, explaining why these things won't happen. I don't want to give up on this franchise, but I'm reaching a point where some things are too frustrating for me to bother. Knowing that all it takes is a trade like the one today, to have to start over, makes it really hard to motivate myself to spend hours upon hours on editing. But these are some of my thoughts.
