Stuck on wrong server

I’ve grown up playing nhl... and have always gotten between 15-25 ms when playing EASHL online. But for whatever reason, when I play.... I am stuck on 40-50ms for East games and I am from Virginia!!! When I play any central game I get 16-20 ping.............. And I don’t know what to do because it’s rare to ever get a central game. Is it possible to be stuck on the wrong server? There’s no way I ping better to a central server from where I live. Very very frustrating. Any help or thoughts are appreciated!
