I'm very sorry to say, there are no planned updates for NHL 22 so we won't be able to address this. Does it also happen in a new Franchise Mode career?
It was a new franchise that I created yesterday - ok thanks anyway

You're very welcome. Did this happen with other Franchise Mode saves or is this the first one? Did you create an identical team as the first one? Possibly, there's something unique to that team causing this. If so, I'd recommend creating a completely different and new team to see if it occurs again.
Which console are you on?
It is on ps5 - and have this roster on NHL23,24 and 25

i have not tried franchise mode on 22 before yesterday

Unfortunately, the best I can advise is deleting the personal saved data. However, this is going to delete your offline saves and changes to any settings you've made. If you want to do that, go to Settings/Storage/System. Locate NHL 22 and delete the saved data. I can't think of anything else to try if that doesn't help.
