Temporary NHL Division Realignment in Franchise Mode
The NHL is expected to have a divisional realignment this season (such as the All-Canadian Division), and then go back to normal after. Along with fixing the broken trade-value/Free-Agency-signings system, the next update should include the ability to customize NHL division alignment for one year, or even better on a year to year basis. This way you could alter the divisions for the first year to be realistic then go back to normal, if you choose. There should be some customization options with this.
It would also be nice to have the ability to have an expansion draft after the initial start of franchise mode. This would give the chance to add Seattle Kraken for 2021-2022 to the pacific division, and swap Arizona to the Central division where they are supposed to be. Kraken needs to be added to the list of play by names in create a team, it's absurd that it isn't there already; some sort of logo(s) would be nice too.
Reunlock customize ability to edit player age, height, & weight; & position & player type in Franchise Mode (bring it back...).
- @LordDecland Will pass along the feedback, thanks for creating a post on a game feature you'd like to see. I always enjoy reading creative posts here on the forums.
EA is "licensed" to make an NHL game, we don't own the NHL and are tasked to create a game, so the NHL has a part in what goes into the game. NHIL 21 represents the most recent NHL season, so having the Seattle Kraken excluded in this year's version is intended because they haven't played yet. This is similar to when players ask why rosters aren't updated for previous titles by including rookies from the draft. Rookies were drafted in the off-season, thus not representing that current season. If someone wanted to pick up NHL or Madden 21 3 years from now, they want to play the teams and players representing that year in their life.
