Nice to see I'm not alone with this frustration. EA it's time to get this fixed in some form. Let us disable that feature or have scouts contact us as to whether we want specific players on the block. I think disable option would be best though.
the whole scouting system needs a revamp anyway. so does the coaching system. you dont have enough scouting spots to scout all the areas of the amateurs and all the NHL/AHL areas. with fog of war off I shouldnt have to guess if a FA or a player I trade for will fit my system. there are just certain things that should be known.
for example, I dont need a scout to tell me that Mcdavid is the best player in the world. every attribute in this game should be known without scouting because you can literally see it play out. I shouldnt have to scout Mcdavid to know that he can pass the puck...I know this is a little off topic but it goes hand in hand. my scouts are cluess. set them to "find prospects" for 6 weeks and they scout 1 player in the top 50 and 4 or 5 in the 200 range. and they only figured out what player type they are. even when you manually scout theyre useless. A+ scout and it takes me 3 times to get an accurate scouting report on ONE thing(skills, potential, etc).
all this snowballs and effects the trading system. the trade logic is questionable at best and the values are weird. my scouts think that they low elite guy I just drafted in the 5th round should be on the block and the 85 overall player I signed in FA should be available for trade as well... two days after I signed them. whole system from top to bottom needs to be refreshed. I am hoping that 23 will be strictly next gen and franchise will get a complete overhaul

I’ve been saying for years, fog of war is cool, but the thought process needs a ton of work, so for the most part I scout all the 24-32 year olds and leave the others uncovered as it’s the only semi challenging/realistic way I’ve found to use fog of war. I shouldn’t have to scout team lines either as that is public information that can be found anywhere.
The biggest problem with how trade blocks are setup by the computer is they use the same logic for the AI gm’s, the only difference is they actually trade away those pieces where I can stop the bad trades from happening with my team.

I leave fog of war disabled along with coach line changes and do manual scouting of prospects. Nothing we can do stops the trade board from getting changed

To be clear I am not asking to disable scouts as a whole just to disable AI changes to my trade block. The scouts job is to scout players and give me a report on them. It is not their job to decide who goes on the trade block or what type of players/draft picks I need
