Wayne Gretzky can't wear no 99 in Playoff Mode because of retired numbers

Product: NHL 22
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start a playoff mode. Include a team that Wayne Gretzky is on, like the Edmonton Oilers Alumni. Start a game with that team.
What happens when the bug occurs? Wayne Gretzky wears no 97 because his no 99 is retired league wide and retired numbers can't be turned off in playoff mode.
What do you expect to see? Wayne Gretzky wearing no 99
Was the issue in online or offline mode? Offline

This makes Playoff Mode with alumni players unplayable for me.

    Well, this sucks.

    Didn’t realize that we might not be able to turn off retired numbers in playoff mode.


    I had planned on making multiple playoff Alumni rosters for various years. Now I may not.

    Ive had this idea in my head for years, and have been suggesting it to EA for just as long, but the logistics of it may not be possible. Basically you pick the year, and the team, and see if you can win it all.

    All the teams would have the actual playoff roster for each specific year, and would include accurate jerseys and actual arenas from that year.

    Yeah it's really annoying. I've been telling EA about this for years but to no avail. The option is there for season and franchise mode, so why not playoff mode?
