It's been a while since a movie in this genre was released (unless I completely missed something..) The last movie in this vein that I saw was Prometheus.
The series itself has a great story for a movie, so speaking personally, I would definitely be up for this. What I can tell in advance is that I definitely wouldn't watch it alone while in a dark room.. 😉

I think that Michael Fassbender can handle any role.. 😎

Not my favorite, but I can honestly say that I've never seen him give a bad performance so far. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing him in any movie.
My favorite actor must be Tom Hanks. Thought I have to admit that he just can't do wrong since his performance in Forrest Gump...

It would definitely not be easy to play such a tormented character as Isaac Clarke. I think Andrew Lincoln who plays Rick Grimes in "the walking dead" could be a valid choice.
PS: I would certainly not be happy if a film director would emphasise on the action in such a movie. Horror, despair and survival must be the core of the movie.

I agree on that, as that the horror and survival is the core of the series. An action movie wouldn't do it justice.

Meanwhile, somewhere at EA, someone did this little puppy:

Not a bad animated movie at all. It was followed by another:

There was a time when EA did some nice animated movies, based on various franchises (Dante's Inferno, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Dead Space) and they've stopped. All the franchises had good potential for movies or TV series, so it's kind of sad to see the idea abandoned.
I've seen all the Dead Space animated movies. I think they're great!
PS: A new movie I'm definitely interested in too! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5442430/
