Origin Cannot Launch FIFA 22...

Hi there,

When I click play on FIFA 22, the Origin client disappears and then reappears with FIFA not launching.

- It does not appear as a task or process in task manager

- I have reinstalled Origin and FIFA 22

- I have reset Origin's cache through AppData and ProgramData

- I have completed a clean boot of my PC

- I have attempted to launch the game through the new EA desktop app and it did the exact same thing

I'm getting a bit frustrated on this one, the last thing I haven't tried is a full Windows reset of my PC but that's a bit extreme to be honest...

Can anyone help at all? Thanks!

  • Hi there,

Thanks for the quick reply, I actually seemed to fix it by changing the permissions of my FIFA 22 folder in my documents!

It was on read-only which I thought was fairly standard but after changing it, FIFA now loads fine! I think my AppData folder had a few issues before that too so it may have been linked.

Thank you, hopefully that may help others in the future...

Hi @MushyDoughnut Before we go with a Windows reinstall there are a few things we can try before that. To check once FIFA 22 closes do you get an error message at all?

Also if you haven't try going through the following:

    • Allowing Origin/Steam and the game through your anti-virus or firewall
    • Run Origin/Steam and Apex as an administrator (by right-clicking desktop icons and selecting 'run as admin")
    • Disable Origin in-game overlay and any other running overlay
    • Check for Windows and GPU updates
    • Try putting your device in a Clean Boot then loading the game

If you still run into issues, would it be possible to get a DxDiag after trying to load the game and it fails?

    Hi there,

I am having game loading fail from both Steam and Origin, as after language selected, the loading stop. As per your solution of changing permission in game folder in Document, I went it and see nothing to make the changes. Appreciate if you could elaborate more on this. Thank you.

  • @EA_Illium Thank you for sharing the initial steps to perform checks, however i have tried them with the similar issue i am facing with my copy of FIFA 22, but it just doesn't seem to work. I have also tried changing the permissions from read only and this doesn't seem to work either.

Please can you help me find a solution to this issue i am facing, as i am unable to launch the game. Every time i try to do so origins opens up and the game fails to launch.
