@jeff_freiherr Akamai specializes in content delivery, a service that EA (and many other companies) use instead of delivering the files themselves. I've noticed that many of my EA downloads go through akamai redirects, but it's always legitimate.
I also just tried to download Origin from the link you provided, and it worked fine. Is it possible that you have some sort of blocker on your browser that's preventing the download? If you're not sure, you can try a different browser. Or, if you want, you can go through the U.S. storefront:
