This begins to get a bit ridiculous. I linked Epic to this forum thread - which they obviously haven't read despite me saying there is a screenshot and your video of the problem. I will provide them with the system info they asked for in an email, and again point them to this thread.
I don't believe they are dealing with this properly as they keep on mentioning Fortnite! That has nothing to do with this, and I don't even play that game! Below is part of the email I last received from them:
Hi there Player,Greetings from Epic Games Player Support! This is Elora, and I'll be handling your ticket today. I hope you're doing well.Thank you for your response. Hi Epic,I don't think you are dealing with this problem properly. It's been a couple of weeks and I cannot install the first game I ever bought from your store.- I again implore you to read the thread users are having regards this issue on the ignored EA support forums: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin-Client-Web-Technical/Origin-error-when-trying-to-connect-Origin-Epic-accounts/td-p/9893094/highlight/false
- The thread on that support forum includes a screenshot and video of users having this problem
- I have no idea why you are talking about Fortnite. This problem has nothing to do with Fortnite, Fortnite is not a game I play at all.
- All other games I have on the Epic Store install and work just fine.
- I've tried running the Epic launcher as admin and it doesn't help
- Find attached dxdiag, msinfo, and launcher logs
- Please note again there is now a separate issue of a missing DLL warning since the Epic Launcher updated recently: https://forums.unrealengine.com/unreal-engine/feedback-for-epic/1850218-prgram-cant-start-cause-api-ms-win-downlevel-kernal32-blah-blah-dll-is-missing
- Please note again that Starwars Squadrons would not install prior to your Epic launcher update that now causes the missing DLL message (But the Epic launcher seemingly works fine afterwards anyway): https://forums.unrealengine.com/unreal-engine/feedback-for-epic/1850218-prgram-cant-start-cause-api-ms-win-downlevel-kernal32-blah-blah-dll-is-missing
- There is nothing wrong with my PC, a million other games/software, Steam, GOG, Origin, Ubiconnect/Uplay all work fine independently
- The problem is with the integration between Epic and EA, and both companies need to communicate with each other to fix it!!!!!
Sigh the EA forum ate my post before of the email Epic sent to me :-( So the email I sent above was in response to Epic sending me this (I have sent Epic the requested logs):
