Remove XBOX Live account from EA account

Hi.

I have 2 EA accounts, one of them is linked to my XBOX Live account. Now I want to link the XBOX Live account to my other account.

This article states, that unlinking the XBOX Live account is not possible (which already is inacceptable in my oppinion): https://help.ea.com/en/help/account/link-your-console-accounts/

Now, what should be possible is merging the two accounts (or transferring one to the other). I contacted EA support about this, and they said they cannot do it, because I played Apex Legends on both accounts. Even deleting my old EA account wouldn't not release my XBOX Live account, they say I have to create a new XBOX Live account and link that. (I think EA overestimates its relevance a bit in this regard. 😃)

Is there anyone else with a similar problem?

For now it seems that I have to keep both accounts to not loose anything, but I surely won't buy anything anymore on either account, because I can't tell what shenanigans EA comes up with next...

    Hey @k3nzngtn for issues such as this you will need to speak with one of our phone or chat support advisers who will be able to advise you further. 

     

    You can contact our live support at help.ea.com.  

    To  speak with a chat adviser:

    Click on your product Origin

    Then select 'PC

    Manage my Account'

    Can't log in

    Finally, you can choose to begin a chat or request a call back.

    Hi EA_Darko,

    that is exactly what I did and where my information is coming from. I contacted Chat-Support on two occasions and both times I got the same response; they checked my account and could not do anything (remove XBXOX Live account or merge with another account) because I played Apex Legends with it.

    So EA (or Respawn) pretty much put me in a deadlock position where I can't use either account fully, and pretty much have to resort to using each account for a specific purpose (which is pretty annoying).

    I will only use my accounts from this point on to play my existing games (on account 1) and XBOX Game Pass games (on account 2), but will never buy anything from EA (or Respawn) again.

    Sounds salty I know, but from my point of view corresponds exactly to how much I value EA and its services...

    Hey @k3nzngtn if our live support team has advised you that they are unable to unlink the accounts then I'm sorry to say that there is nothing that we can do to change this.
