Text is mirrored and backwards

I recently reloaded Windows 10 Pro 64 bit... And now after reinstalling Origin game launcher, the text is mixed between normal and reverse/mirrored

  • Funny. I was just having the same problem after I got my own copy Windows 10. All I did was close out origin entirely, opened/ran it as administrator, and after that everything loaded up flawlessly! :D

    Hope this helps!

I had already tried that and it didn't work. After a few hours it apparently fixed itself. A few minutes before it finally worked Origin was displaying that it was working in offline mode because online login was unavailable. Both issues were probably on their end (Steam and everything else was working fine).

11 months later and still got the same issue.

Clearing all the cache folders did not help.

Right now I can't use the Friends List and its chat, since all the UI elements get mixed up by this mirrored/flipped text.

Take a look at the attached image.

  • i have the same issue. an ea assistant told me to reenstall origin and if that didnt work to reset system. i did both - still not working xD

  • I just upgraded from Win8 to Windows 10 and had the same text and friends list issue. Running Origin as Administrator (right click -> More -> Run as administrator) worked for me too! Thanks @SpIitMoon.

  • @barontick Works for me too, thanks. But I was surprised to find that it was a permanent (not one time) requirement. I "always" have to run as administrator to prevent this from happening? It still doesn't have a good explanation to me. @Origin wtf.
  • @JermKills I should also note that I have seen the full origin window fail to render at times as well, and also that popping out the friends list window will sometimes correct it, but if it doesn't, I also notice odd behavior moving between monitors. I have a multi-monitor system - maybe that's related somehow? Just throwing that detail in in case there's a pattern with others.
