What’s going to happen with the ea app and old macs?

Hi all, this isn’t so much a big or issue but a general question. I have a 2014 MacBook Air that can’t update passed high sierra 10.13.6 so I can’t download the ea app, I’m also not in a position to buy a new laptop at the moment, what’s going to happen to my games? Is there any way I can still access them after April 2025?

  • @mils2003112  A 2014 MacBook Air can run up to macOS 11 (Big Sur).  Are you sure you don't have an older model?

As for the EA App, there's no indication it's going to work on older versions of macOS than Catalina (10.15), or that there will be any other way to play EA games in these OSs.

@mils2003112  Great, then you can install Catalina or Big Sur and start using the EA App.  Here are links for each, respectively:

    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/macos-catalina/id1466841314?mt=12

    https://apps.apple.com/id/app/macos-big-sur/id1526878132?mt=12

Keep in mind that neither one runs 32-bit apps.  So if you want to keep using such apps, you'll want to first install an older OS onto an external drive; you can boot into that to run the older apps.  If you'd like help with this process, let me know.  Keep in mind you do need to go through this process before updating to Catalina or Big Sur.
