I am trying to cancel my download of a game that I decided I did not want but it would not let me either pause or cancel and that's really upsetting since now I have to waste my time to wait for a game I do not want to download when I could be downloading one I actually want. Please fix it to where we can actually click cancel and it will cancel.

If deleting the download cache still does not stop the download, or my case update, what else might we be able to try? I tried contacting EA support and told them about my issue and they said it is a known porblem but have no troubleshooting instructions. Basically I can't update a game I paid for and have been hoping to play because of a known yet unown error. Not sure what to do.
P.S.- the game is sims 4 on my mac

I should explain that it first gave me a download error message. I uninstalled, deleted dowload cahce, reinstalled, turned off my mac- now it is stuck on 28% download rate. Left it on for hours and no change

Hey @tiffpmar420, can you ensure that you are running Origin as administrator and that your firewall and anti-virus are not blocking Origin and that you also have the ports for Origin open.

The ports to open are:

TCP: 80; 443; 9960-9969; 1024-1124; 3216; 18000; 18120; 18060; 27900; 28910; 29900

UDP: 1024-1124; 18000; 29900

You can also try turning off the routers firewall to see if it helps.

I have the same exact problem, deleting cashe files did not work. Uninstalling and reinstalling origin might be a faster alternative to waiting for the game to finish installing/updating

This is an old topic but the issue still exists. I will tell you what worked for me. The buttons in the download section are definitely not working but if you go to your game library, click on the game you're downloading, click the settings icon and there you will see the option to "pause" or "resume" or "cancel" download. Those worked for me.

@EA_Ataashi I'm having this problem but on the EA app. I tried installing the sims 4 and it just wasn't working and was stuck on 98% for days. I cleared the cache and now it just says loading when I click on the sims and i cant do anything. Its said loading for about 5 days now ☹️ i just wanna play sims.
