While it may not be exactly what you've mentioned here, Super Mega Baseball 4 does have a large number of actual historical players you can add to your own custom teams.
That may be worth checking out if you're looking for some vintage players!

Super Mega Baseball 4 is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
