Connecting to Spore servers...

...so here's where I'm at.  My Spore game is likely 15 years old or more.  I have talked briefly with Spore support but once you leave the ticket I can't find a way to communicate with them anymore (do they close at 5 on Saturday?).  Anyway, they had me download the EA app and connect my Steam accout to my EA Acct.  Stilll no luck on connecting however.  Cleary the problem isn't internet if I am downloading and updating account info.  So am just guessing I have a deleted or inactivated account.  In  that case I would give up my old account info and just make a new account but I would like to not have a to make a new screen name and not sure this would even work.  Any advice is appreciated.  Again, more concerned with access to the library than my old files.  Add to all that people seem to be wondering if the Spore server is  even up.  Hate to go through new accts and linking if the whole problem is the servers are down.
