Hello on steam i got spore and it does work not why and can you help.

      Try this:

      Open Steam, go to your game library, right-click on Spore, then left-click the "Properties" option. A new dialog box will open.

       In this box, click the "Local Files" tab, then click "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE". You will need to be online for this to work; depending on your connection speed, it will take anywhen from a few minutes to several hours.

      Don't worry if it doesn't work right away after verification. When I got the complete pack all I could play initially was Galactic Adventures, but it had core Spore in it; then I verified the cache, and after a few days I was inexplicably able to launch original Spore outside of Steam or GA. Weird, huh?

I am having the same problem as above. I tried what you said to do and it says "1 files failed to validate and will be reaquired." I tried to open the game from the steam library but it still gave me the same error messages. Thank you for your help.

Yeah, it'll do that; sorry I forgot to mention it.....

If you have GA and the parts pack too, try validating the games in reverse order. If that doesn't work, you'll probably find that after a few days it will inexplicably be working, like it was just phuqing with you for a laugh.

So there is no way to fix the "1 file missing" but to just wait...

Well, it worked for me, but I'm extraordinarily patient about game programs I've bought. I just played core Spore through GA for a few days until it started working on its own.

how long do you have to wait before it magically fixes itself

I'm not sure; I think I found out about four days later, but it could have happened sooner.
