I have the exact same issue and apparently that's because the games are already registered onto your account...and somehow don't appear in your games library.
When one first connects to the Spore servers with the physical copy, an EA/Origin account is automatically created and the virtual version of the game added to your library.
The codes are invalid because you "already used them" and you "already have the games"... under no circumstances you should (again) buy Spore and the DLCs.
I too am trying to contact EA to fix what is actually an invisible game issue, if only there was a way to contact EA.
