Spore Registration Issue

Hope someone can help here.  I have valid cd Keys for spore.  I go into the EA app to try to register it.  It then comes up with a list of languages, none of which are English.  All of them look Asian or another language.  I see plenty of posts of how to change the language AFTER you have it registered.  

I click on one of the languages and I cannot do anything.  I double click the language, I try to hit enter, space, anything but nothing lets me move from the screen.  I know it's an old game but I had a blast with it before.  

Any thoughts / fixes?  I have all of the DVD's but of course newer computers, especially laptops, typically don't have a player.
