On Steam here...some impressions here after a few days.
Story stuff is okay...could've done without the stadium truck events maybe. Not that I mind the trucks but the AI is too slow in them. They require a different driving style and the AI doesn't do that.
Fuji as a track, great! The game shines with fast cars on fast tracks so online races are a ton of fun. Graphically it's awesome too, dusk/sunset have some gorgeous skyboxes. AI on Legends needs a buff around Fuji though for sure.
The new cars...overall great. I can understand why the LMPs were put in the Vintage class, as it was a bit of a Mazda spec series but even now the Mazda seems a bit faster. Not nearly as much in comparison to the 962 thankfully.
Bentley GT3 is great, slots right in the middle of the powerful-but-clumsy BMW and the responsive-but-twitchy Renault.
BMW V12 is great, feels like what a high downforce naturally aspirated engine prototype should.
Bentley Speed 8 is kinda off though, very low gearing and seems to have little rear downforce as well as the car bottoming out on kerbs which makes it very sketchy to drive. Good power though.
The little Mazda...I admit I was very disappointed when I heard that its coming...its a spec series with a very slow car. Those barely get played online. HOWEVER...this thing has so much front end grip and so little rear end grip that it makes for some really fun driving! The AI bottles it around corners so they're not much of a challenge but online races have been hilarious. Even skilled drivers can skid it just enough to lose forward momentum making for a ton of back and forth.
As for the progress and sponsor bugs...I've got 600h now in the game. Ever since the update that made the option to clear the UI notifications I have had no issues with any sponsors or progress bugs. For one of the new sponsor I somehow had 1 objective done even before I selected it but all the events unlocked fine and got completed fine.
Only issue I had was in the story mode...the Autozam at Shanghai race. Won it but game didn't register I beat my teammate. One re-do was all that it took to get that sorted.
Noticed you can't go back to default livery on all but the Autozam so that needs to get sorted.
Game crashes are still a thing it seems unfortunately. Happens more online to be fair. On release day had multiple issues when after race end game would get stuck for 5 mins before starting next race or going back to lobby.
The new race mode...that's the biggest disappointment. No changing weather, no tire wear, no day/night cycle. Its very minimal effort. Its better than multi-class but that's about it.
Hoping for new tracks for next DLCs.
