I've logged hundreds of hours in both games enjoying each one thoroughly. I prefer GRID Legends, but I want to highlight what I think GRID 2019 does better than GRID Legends: Lap leaderboards.
GRID 2019's in-game global lap leaderboard tab is visible after every race to inspire time trial competition. The lap leaderboard for GRID Legends is very tedious to access, located on an external site. Racenet.com is an obstacle keeping people away from GRID Legends time trials, so the lap leaderboard for GRID Legends isn't very competitve. The intent is obviously to drive website signups, and it's most certainly not worth sacrificing the in-game lap leaderboard tab. The leaderboard is almost completely empty. Lap leaderboards should be visible in-game in order to inspire competition. Rather than removing the lap leaderboard from future iterations of GRID, Racenet.com can develop different features to drive website traffic
