Handling woes

Any chance you could add a 'disable off-throttle braking' option or at the very least make it a little less extreme than it currently is because fluent judgement of turns/corners is next to impossible using this current insta-deceleration method, making racing just feel incredibly clunky when you're constantly turning too early/late or coming to a near standstill during the process of corner navigation.

The following clip is the result of simply letting go of R/T (all assists switched OFF)

That was just a straight line example....and trust me, that 90mph to standstill thing is even more abrupt when turning left or right is involved.

  • Hey all!

We can confirm that we've found the source of the engine braking issue and have fixed it for a future update. Unfortunately, it won't be making the next patch that is planned to drop later this week, however, it will be in the one after that.

In the meantime, when playing the game for the first time, after the initial race you'll be asked to select a difficulty setting. Choosing any setting other than 'Medium' will avoid this issue from occurring. There's no way of fixing this in the settings after this point, but once that new patch is in you should stop seeing this problem.

  • I would agree with this. I love the game generally, but the off-throttle braking is definitely the thing I would change about it. It often makes cornering a real inconsistent affair, as your brakes randomly lock up and you slide into the barriers, despite never having touched the brakes at all, just released the accelerator a little.

  • I am convinced the off-throttle braking is a bug.
The game played normal for me on PC up until some point
then it changed and I had that extreme off-throttle braking.
