License check failed

I have the game on EA Play Pro and when I try to play it I get the following message: "License check failed. The game will be closed." My only option is to press "Okay".

  • After v1.06's release on March 10th, an additional hotfix is now public on Origin and EA App that aims to resolve the following issues:

    • User Receiving License Check Failed When Booting On Origin While Using EA Play Pro
    • Account Restricted (Unable To Access Online)
    • License Check Error On Boot Before Game Closes Down When Using ZoneAlarm Firewall

    If you are still having issues with ZoneAlarm firewall, please add the GRID Legends excecutable file to the 'Allow' list. Details on how to do this can be found here in the "Configuring Permissions for Individual Programs" section: Configuring Advanced Application Control Settings – ZoneAlarm Support Center

    Finally able to play the game. Glad I didn’t have to uninstall it cuz it’s actually good so far. Glad this patch fixed my issues and hopefully everyone else’s 

  • You have the license check failed error too? I might actually try to get it again if it's fixed. I refunded Pro.

    Yea EA support twitter/reddit is the first thing I try and never a reply.

  • I still have the error through Origin.  Disabling AV and all other security did not help.  Just downloaded today, so should have the update.

    Thanks for the info! 

    Would you be able to try starting your PC in a Clean Boot to see if that makes any difference? If there is something else running that could be related to the error that may help to narrow it down. 

    For more details on how to set up a Clean Boot check out the EA Help website. Please let me know how that goes once you've had the chance to give it a try. Thank you! 

  • Found it to be my Killer network card causing the issue.  Updated the drivers for it and now it works.
