Low fps and game crashing on xbox series x

Hey folks, 

Appears the patch hasn't helped this issue! When your console switches off, usually you are given a message once the console powers back on (see attached). Do you get anything like this?

No message at all! My screen flickers green and I get the shutdown noise through my series X. My controller stays on as it is flashing to try to connect to the console. Then as I power my console back on it turns on as if nothing happened. 

Never had that message pop up it just switches off and then I have to restart it

No but one person suggested that the random shut downs could be due to 120hz video mode on the console. I have tested that yesterday and switched to 60hz whilst playing Grid Legends and I had a healthy 4 hour session without my console randomly switching off. I also play with a friend of mine who does play at 60hz on Xbox Series X and he had no random shut downs at all. So, it seems very likely that when playing 120hz the console is overheating and then just switches off as a pre-cautionary measure in place. 

And regarding the picture you posted no not getting anything like that. For now, I'm gonna play at 60hz and see if the issue is for sure gone.

As a workaround for now then, please disable 120hz mode wherever possible. This needs to be done in the Xbox's settings page and an in-game toggle for this may be added in the future:

1. Navigate to the Settings app on your Xbox.
2. Choose the Display & sound tab
3. Select the Video output tile.
4. Open the Refresh rate drop-down menu.
5. Choose 60Hz to increase your refresh rate.

I'm not running in 120fps mode as my TV does not support it, so this mode is disabled for me anyway. 

Yeah, I tried going down to 60 Hz and thought it might be helping but ended up crashing again on me as well. This really sucks.

My set up only runs 60fps, never had it set to 120 as it wouldn't cope. Today has been better but still three complete shutdowns, no error messages, just off and controller flashing, Xbox series X. Happens mid race, mid Replay, in menu's, just really random.
