Re: Car slows down rapidly when off gas

Actually just noticed this for myself too. I decelerate unnaturally fast and then come to a stop, even on inclines.

2 pt

Product: GRID Legends
PlatformPC (Steam)
Summarize your bug: Cars slow down unnaturally fast while coasting, about the same as 50% braking power.
Did you have cross-play enabled? Yes
In what game mode did the bug occur? All game modes
How often does the bug occur? 100%
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?

  • Start a time trial on a track that includes uphill and/or downhill sections
  • Release both the throttle and brake while on a hill

What do you expect to see?:The car should coast and slowly decelerate. If on a hill its rate of deceleration should be properly affected by gravity. Cars should start to roll downhill if they come to a stop while going uphill, and should not stop while coasting downhill.

Actual result: Cars slow down as if I have some sort of brake input. Cars come to a complete stop on hills without any braking input.

    Hello,,

I realized that my car keeps spinning out in some vehicles due to this bug which acts like a brake, i understand that if i fully depress the brakes while turning in a race car that my car may spin out. however simply just letting of the gas cause this

  • Some cars, like front wheel drive, can be really hard to drive - it causes terribly under steer when the choices are only between brake and throttle and I can’t coast through any part of the turn.

btw- I’m on PS5. All assists off except ABS. Issue occurs with both DualSense and Logitech G29.

    Hey all,

    Thank you for the reports!

Are you seeing this happening with both automatic and manual shifting?

  • @EA_Kent

    Yup, manual and automatic.

It is even happening when the clutch is engaged.

Happening with Steering wheels + Gamepad, various Configs have been tried including all the special shifting options.

Assist also do not change it, but if you try to reproduce best to turn them off, because it is somewhat masking the effect.

@EA_Kent I can second this. I've tested with a PS4 controller, Nintendo Switch Pro controller, and keyboard. Manual / Auto settings do not have an impact in this. I've went as far as testing all of these inputs with only accelerate bound to a key, and alas no difference. I've hopped into previous Grid titles at various points in troubleshooting and this issue is unique to Legends.

I'll pass this along to the team.
